Mañana empieza oficialmente el verano, y mi cancion de este año para el verano es Summertime de George Gershwin, compuesta para la clasica opera Porgy and Bess. Aunque precisamente la version original es la que menos me gusta, el tema en si es una cancion perfecta de musica pop, como se ha demostrado en los cientos de versiones que se han hecho de este tema.
Tomorrow begins officialy summer, my song for this summer is Summertime from George Gershwin, composed for the classic opera Porgy And Bess. Although the original version is the less i like, the song itself is the perfect pop song, this is shown in the hundred of covers of the theme.

Nuevo disco de Neurosis, todavia es pronto para emitir un juicio, pero el disco pinta bien, eso si, yo espero otra obra maestra como A Sun That Never Sets. Por ahora puedo decir que es mas oscuro y que tiene menos canciones, el sonido es parecido, aunque no el mismo.
Ya solo falta que hagan una gira por españa.
New Neurosis album, now is too soon to say anything consistent about it, but it seems pretty good, i expect for them to do another masterpiece like A Sun That Never Sets. For now i can say that is darker, and that it has less songs, the sound is similar, but not the same.
It'll be a good notice that they come to spain.

Esta es la nueva configuracion de mi escritorio, primaveral, fresquita y elegante, aunque con un poco mas de informacion. En la parte de la izquierda tengo una aplicacion que va presentando las noticias de mi pagina web favorita, luego unas aplicaciones que me dicen la memoria y el espacio de disco ocupado y otra monitoriza la actividad de la cpu.
Con gnome 2.6 ha habido muchos cambios en el comportamiento del ordenador y ademas iconos nuevos como el de la computadora que aparece a la derecha, por fin han arreglado el funcionamiento del entorno de red, cosa importante a mi manera de ver.
Para finalizar he encontrado una aplicacion que no solo te dice el tiempo del momento sino tambien la prevision de los siguientes dias, rapidamente se ha convertido en mi favorita.
This is my new desktop configuration, spring, fresh and elegant too, but with more information. In left side of the screen i've got an application that shows the news of my favorite web page, then other apps that shows the memory used and free disk space, also cpu activity.
With gnome 2.6 there is a lot of changes in the behavior of the computer, and also new icons like the computer icon that appears on the right. At least, they've fixed the networking enviroment, i think thats important.
In the end, i've found an application that tells you the time for the whole week, quickly it became a favorite one.

Este es Jimmy Smith. Un maestro del hammond, root down es una de sus canciones mas famosas, incluso en nuestros dias. Esto es asi, porque Beastie Boys samplearon el potente bajo y muchas otras parets de la cancion para una cancion del mismo titulo incluida en Ill Comunication.
Desde la primera vez que escuche la cancion de los Beasties, me quede con el riff de bajo, y he descubierto ahora quien toca la canción original. Esto es gracias a antonia_de_latex que es fan de Jimmy Smith
This is Jimmy Smith. A hammond masterplayer, root down is one of his most famous songs, even nowadays. This is why Beastie Boys sampled the groovy bass and many other parts of the song for a song of the same title included in Ill Comunication.
Since the first time i listened the Beastie's song i got with the bass riff, and i've discovered now who plays the original song, this is thanks to antonia_de_latex who likes Jimmy Smith a lot.

Mi grupo favorito, tambien hacen un gran arte en sus libretos, y grandes videos. Su musica es absolutamente esencial, una extraña mezcla entre king crimson y black sabbath, pero con toda la personalidad de los cuatro miembros del grupo.
Ha habido rumores de serparación, por eso les he hecho este homenaje, pero no he visto nada en la pagina oficial. Extraño.
My favorite band, they also do nice artwork and videos, their music is absolutelly essential, a weird mix between king crimson and black sabbath, with all the personality of the four members of the band, a must have.
There have been rumours about split, since here my homage, but i haven't seen anything on the official site. Strange.
